![]() A few students from kindergarten through fifth grade stepped up to the microphone to pick the brains of our college visitors during a question and answer session. ![]() The Willard staff and students were wearing their ISU gear or their new Willard T-shirts provided by the PTO. 20! The gym was decorated with red and gold signs to welcome three student-athletes from Iowa State University. The Studebaker PTA also purchased pencils, red ribbons and bookmarks for all staff and students! Thanks, PTA! 27: I’m a JEAN-ius! I’m Drug Free & Bully Free! (Wore jeans) 26: I’m Too BRIGHT for Drugs or Bullies! ( Wore bright clothing) 25: SOCK it to Drugs and Bullies! (Wore crazy or mismatched socks) 24: Put a CAP on Drugs and Bullying (Wore a hat or cap) In science this month, fourth grade is dissecting owl pellets to learn about skeletal systems. We also had the Scholastic Book Fair available during conferences which always excites students. Our first conferences were held, so teachers were excited to get a chance to meet with parents and talk about what great things their children are accomplishing in school. The first-graders showed off a few fun dance moves and the cadets joined with the class in the “tooty –ta.”įourth and fifth grades attended the Applause Series play, “The Incredible Speediness of Jamie Cavanaugh,” at the Des Moines Civic Center. They also enjoyed showing the cadets their ability to read and to write a fabulous sentence, as well as sharing books together. The students were excited to meet the cadets from the Red Bull Battalion and asked many questions. Jessica Webb’s first-grade class enjoyed an afternoon of reading and writing with special guests from the Central Campus Junior ROTC program.
